My first all-computer lesson

Can I be biased and talk about good things only? Sure I can, this is my blog! LOL
Activity- webquest
Autonomy - kids worked in pairs, helped one-another and seldom called me to explain anything (except to solve some technical problems)
Freedom - some were quite surprised that they were allowed to choose which places they wanted to tour virtually (the instruction was to visit at least five places but there were many possibilities)
Commitment - except for one pair who were always trying to cheat, they all sticked to the tasks and followed the instructions; most took the vocabulary quiz twice so that they could get a better score.
Time- it took a bit longer than I expected but time wasn't wasted as kids were involved in the tasks.
Problem - solving - they used online dictionaries instead of asking me what the words meant and I congratulated them on that but forbade the use of translator in the writing task
Teacher- that's me and I didn't get tired. I didn't have to talk much and only guided and assisted and ended up being very relaxed and quite sure that some learning was taking place.

  1. Excellent job!! It seems that technology is helping us do our job easier, since you (like you said) didn´t talk much.

Technology in the classroom has many advantages as you could see for yourself. Keep implementing more activities like these. Your effort won´t be taken or granted.

  2. Hello, Sara,

It is so incredible that you are already implementing your blog and post messages on web already. I envy your students that they have these chances to engage in it. Also, I am impressed that you put all elements here to share, which give me more ideas and a picture of you project. In the following future, I will keep my eyes to your course, probably; I can introduce my students to visit your blog. Thanks for sharing.

    All the best,
    Rachel
